ā€œThe question is not just whether it will work, but whether Republicansā€”including the former president himselfā€”will have the discipline to keep the racial subtext of their new strategy from becoming the text.ā€

    Narrator:Ā ā€œThey wonā€™t.ā€

yeah, really not sure this is the winning strategy they think it is - that was from a time long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away.

they are mobilizing their insane against a now increasingly energized ā€œbroader coalitionā€. I have small hope again.

I donā€™t follow the right wing grifter blog sphere at all, but Iā€™ve already seen at least a half dozen Ben Shapiro types already call her a DEI hire. They will not be able to help themselves, because racism is one of the core pillars of the modern Republican mindset.

Thereā€™s a certain sweet irony in the ā€œtoken DEI hireā€ being the overwhelming and enthusiastic consensus pick to take over the campaign. Not that I expect Republican commentators to make the connection, but at least I can enjoy it.
