I’ve always wondered - what is the difference between a gacha game and ANY game with microtransactions? What is it that puts gacha games in a class by themselves?

They really went out of their way to stage something nice looking. It’s almost as if they don’t want the general public to dwell on what a horrific situation he’s in. Then you might start to think about the incompetence, injustice, and cruelty that’s keeping him there - and the system responsible.

Two big reasons I decided not to have kids: even before Trump, I didn’t trust any large government to take the serious, permanent, expensive measures required to address our environmental issues… not before it’s too late, that is.

Secondly, the cost of living (in the US) is insane, and probably just going to get worse. I don’t think it’s fair to saddle children with the mistakes caused and perpetuated by previous generations.

If you have to market your event by starting with such basic information, (e.g. by trying to reassure people that your event actually exists and isn’t a prank) that should worry both you and your customers.

I’m not a software hobbyist anymore. I don’t want to spend hours doing research and trying to de-enshittify my new phone. I know Apple is ripping me off, but if one believes that time is money, it’s actually tolerable. Then there’s the UI, which I believe is the best in the market.

I’m not a fan of Apple’s walled garden, but for me, it’s the lesser evil. If someone goes with Samsung or something, though, I’d be a dick if I was a snob about it. Use what you like!

Hopefully the materials will improve before then. I think foldable screens are a great idea.

I have to imagine that a fair amount of that is intentional. Some people are just pigs.

Frankly, if a child somehow makes it into my home, and is left unsupervised long enough to work out which of the 7 remote controls turns on the TV and surround sound system, and figures out how to access Netflix - I’d say they’re mature enough to watch whatever they want.
