  • I saw a video about all this last night and it was really disheartening how many people are insulting people.

Edit: here’s a piped video link to the video. https://piped.video/watch?v=wdeto5kXd40&t=0

And YouTube for the comments https://youtu.be/wdeto5kXd40&t=0

The video itself wasn’t great, but it at least seems somewhat impartial. I was really tired and was having a hard time processing what his intentions were as he was going over everything. On top of that, reading the comments at the same time made it even more difficult, since so many are agreeing with the YouTuber but are being so hateful about it. The YouTuber doesn’t seem explicitly hateful, but like I said it isn’t great. Also, it seems inaccurate now given that the video came out so quickly and the way it was handled by Godot.

That is to say, I’m pretty sure his premise of the video is that Xanax was an official community manager. So again, really not great and yet the comments in support are just… Evil and cruel.

  • Linux isn’t for you. Trust me, as someone who doesn’t really like using Linux all that much.

If you stick with it, pick one. Stick with it. Use its documentation, not online forums.

You can’t use online forums because CLI on how to do things varies from distro to distro. So a command for Ubuntu is useless somewhere else, most of the time.

That results in following guides and having it stop working part way through. You will never get anywhere like this. When you eventually do get somewhere, you’re going to take some time away, or you’re going to break something on accident. Then you’ll have to set it all up again and likely will have lost some data if you weren’t careful.

I built a server PC for Plex and a few other programs, after a number of years running various temporary projects, like Raspberry Pi servers I felt semi-confident. It was going for about 7 months and now it is stuck in a grub menu and if I am able to get into the desktop everything is fucked up anyway.

Tl;Dr, you are having issues because you went with the most complicated distros. Run some normal ones like Mint in Virtual Machines, get a feel for the process to install a program – 1) manually, 2) from the “Linux store” (package manager) 3) from GitHub.

Anything else is just asking for a frustration headache

  • I don’t think (most) people love Bill Clinton because he’s wealthy, they love him because he was the last politician who made policies that benefited Americans so much that we had the largest surplus in history.

They love him because of his personality on top of the things he accomplished, at the time despite valid criticisms like lying under oath. He does get a pass from a lot of liberals, usually because he had so many actually effective policies.

On the other hand, many Trump supporters do actually love him because he is wealthy. They like that his policies were aimed at negatively targeting specific groups of people. There’s a big difference between appreciation of a politician who did a lot of good policy while being a bad person, support of a bad person who did a lot of bad policy.

All this to say – they are both supported, but the reasons for it are very different. And honestly, in all my time I’ve never come across someone who loves a Clinton because they are rich. I have come across many Trump supporters who do love Trump because he’s (supposedly) rich.

  • It’s alright, I played for a little bit after it released cause I was bored.

At the time, the queue times were fairly long and the game length was either very quick or a reasonable match length, no in between. It seemed like most people liked one character and anyone playing anyone else was new. At the time, it was very fast paced, but very floaty. There was also not a lot of impact on some of the guns, no real feeling of recoil on the sniper or the SMG.

I’m sure that has changed in the few weeks-~month since I haven’t played. It’s a fun point and clicker, but with the length of the queue times I’d rather play something else.
