Listen, I’m not that old. But I’ve been using computers a long time. It is REALLY not that hard to use other browsers. I have no idea where this hardline comes from for so many people, it…it’s literally all the same. the buttons are all the same. they do the same things. Back button goes back. blank bar where u type website. What’s the difficulty?

Pretty much all of nature is this. Creatures in a position at rest. But when I do it, I’m “lazy”. Lazy is natural. Energy is expensive!

I oppose all of this shit because it requires an unfathomably large and unsustainable level of power consumption to, well, sustain. It is the definition of wasteful decadence during a moment in time where we really, really cannot afford it. I wonder why it is this particular grift everyone wants to tell me is totally nuanced and complicated (regardless of the veracity of such claims) when the long and short of it is that we just do not fucking need any of it.

Please tell me what the concept of gender was like in other societies. Be it Medieval Europe or Imperial China or whatever society you are familiar with.

Please provide me documents. I may take my time to research them.

I have a genuine question that I don’t think I can phrase in a way that won’t make me sound like a jackass: why not have started with this instead of after an entire thread’s worth of claims and assertions to prove you don’t actually know what you are talking about?

We can accept transgender because we know that, after having transitioned, they cannot fake their feeling and gender identity to sexually harass people of different sex.

I also want to push back against this because the data in pretty much every country in the world will prove that the men who want to sexually harass anyone do not go through a charade of cartoonish proportions just to be able to do it- they just do it. A man will not think about disguises so ingenious and clever that no one would be able to tell he’s not a woman just so he can go into the women’s bathroom- he just goes into the women’s bathroom. I don’t know where this notion comes from but it’s incorrect and, like many things, likely just plays to cisgender heterosexual insecurities.

What is feeling happy or sad? This is absurd.

Everyone lies and embellishes their resumes. Everyone. If they tell you they don’t then they are lying. There is nothing to gain in trying to navigate an inherently ignoble system with nobility. They will chew you up and spit you out and you still won’t have a job.

A blessing and a curse

I want to distance myself as far as I can from Discord where possible. I found a plug-in for Pidgin that lets me chat over Discord but that doesn’t really get at the core of the issue really, aside from saving me the headache of using an electron app. Is the Lemmygrad instance active?

Maybe. One thing I know is that even “left” men are still men. The bar is underground for me. At least Lemmygrad doesn’t have its origins in a community surrounding an edgy podcast (yes, sorry, I’m a hater). I lurked in the old r/cth days and I can’t say I’m surprised at all.

I was around for both threads being live, and some of those deleted comments, oof. I am happy that at least the admins were snappy about it. It’s nice when moderation systems aren’t just automated and used to tell people to off themselves like some other places I know…
