From my POV a huge one is that we can’t all own a several-ton personal vehicle. This is something people will not give up on in the near future, not even in my country which is eminently walkable, bikeable and with fairly good public transport.

It was never going to happen. To make actual change people have to be willing to sacrifice. And no one is, the richest of us least of all.

For a while I was holding on to sanity thinking “he’s an idiot and he’s just drawing attention to himself.” But now, to anyone that was still thinking “maybe he really is that clumsy, maybe he didn’t really mean it”, this is it. If you’re not getting it now you never will. He’s literally, in the literal sense of literally, a Nazi.

Must be quite the challenge to be among the intellectual elite and see all these absolute morons trying to promote deranged ideas like compassion and societal harmony.

You expected the market to suddenly behave rationally and value a company according to actual value? First time?

For me, much better than that is that I’m working 100% from home now. I do my laundry on my lunch break, feel super relaxed while working, listening to a podcast of my own music. Also huge: no commuting.

I have an agreement with my boss that as long as I’m more or less available during office hours it’s fine if I take an hour to take a walk or get groceries. I even go to do sports twice a week now during office hours. (hours I compensate by working a bit extra where needed or when I have some time left)

The job itself is not the best career choice. I’ve been offered to 50% higher salary at other places but that would mean full time office, maybe one day per week WFH for some. They can forget it. My life has never felt this peaceful.

Out of curiosity can you do the other colors too?

That was my thought in the first two panels but the last two seem to reverse that. But hell I probably already put way more thought into it than I needed to already.

The difference is that ignorance can be remedied. If they were just evil for evil’s sake then that’s it, might as well give up now.

It’s not the consequences for them I’m worried about, it’s the consequences for all of us if we give in to this dumb “they’re just plain evil and the only way to win is to physically fight them” mentality.

Ignorant is not the same as evil. Ignorance can be fixed. It’s easier to just write people off but it doesn’t solve anything unless you’re really eager for another civil war.

I mean it has the same incentives. Try to ask something that goes against the group ethos and you’ll get downvoted to hell pretty quickly. Not quite as bad as Reddit I’ll agree.

It’s frightening how many people on “our” side are willing to simply believe that half the country is irredeemably evil by nature and not just taken in by a smooth talking conman after having been abused by the system for decades.

Great Trump will be celebrating our withdrawal from our neighbors all day. The best thing that can happen to him is for us to keep yelling “you’re evil” at half the country. It just reinforces his position with every cry of hate.

Are there some actual ideological Nazis following Trump? Of course. But the vast majority is just sick and tired of the status quo that does nothing for them. And as a result they got taken in by a huckster politician.
