…does he not realize that homelessness relates to the mental health crisis?
Amazes me that people are stupid enough to think people simply choose to live like this.
Not a weeb, I just like the funni rat.

“times change”
Bro thinks 2007 was the Johnson administration.
That’s honestly so adorable.
I know how dangerous bears can be but it’s hard not to look at that photo and not be in awe at how cute they look all hanging out on the tree together. Just hope their presence in the area didn’t cause any major safety issues for too long.
Meant to comment on this when I first saw it.
It sucks, but after my Kbin instance was swapping over to Mbin (quick shoutout to tuckerm at supermeter.social, dude’s fucking awesome), I decided to give Lotide a shot, and unfortunately, the instance I signed up for didn’t seem to federate at all for the communities I subscribed to.
If people want a federated Reddit alternative that isn’t Lemmy or Mbin, I’m on PieFed rn and it’s honestly been great so far. I like that the source code is on Codeberg, which is what made me swap to Kbin from Lemmy to begin with.
There’s also Brutalinks, which has their source code on SourceHut like Lotide does, but I’ve yet to find a live instance of it: https://git.sr.ht/mariusor/brutalinks
Ah, my bad, misunderstood Matrix as being part of the fediverse due to the decentralized nature of it and because I saw a cross-post regarding Matrix made to this community.
I’ll delete the post here and keep the original one up.
Look dude, Imma be blunt, but this take has got to be one of the dumbest takes I think I’ve ever seen regarding politics.
You really think there wouldn’t be any consequences at all for just culling 100 million people off the face of the Earth? That’s more than every single death in World War II.
Russia and the world is lucky to not have you as the leader of China because frankly your username matches the quality of the take.
I’ve bought them premade before, but it’s also just a thing about diet and questions on if making them at home are any cheaper than buying them premade.
I’ve noticed the premade frozen ones at the store have a lot of sodium in them, and while I’m not specifically on a low-sodium diet, I also want to make sure I’m keeping things balanced. Making the burgers from scratch at home allows for me to theoretically control how much sodium is in the burgers.
But yeah, in terms of cost, assuming I find a recipe that holds together well, I think it’d be worth finding how the costs compare between the individual ingredients to make them at home, vs the cost of them premade, especially if I can then substitute the black beans for other beans that happen to be on sale like Red Kidney beans or Navy beans.
To give a direct answer, familiarity honestly. While I would want to move towards even having poultry less, it’s just a thing of acquainting myself with recipes and whatnot and finding ones that work for me.
Attempted making bean burgers for example, and they turned out becoming more like sloppy joes, so trying to get things to work out without having to make them each day ha. Trying to challenge myself to use a binding ingredient that isn’t eggs. I got flax seeds since it was recommended before in a convo, but kinda lost on how to properly use them as a binder.
Also idk how much it helps, but being lactose intolerant has greatly reduced the amount of dairy I have, so I tend to go with products based on plant-based alternatives with the only exception being cheese the few times I have it since the texture and mouth feel of vegan cheese just doesn’t match what I’m comfortable with.
Yeah, aware of the fact that meat tends to be a big issue with carbon emissions and environmental sustainability. While I’m not *currently* planning on being vegan, I’m definitely cutting out beef and pork and replacing them with chicken and fish for the time being for both diet and environmental reasons.
Overall trying to reduce the amount of meat I eat regardless, and I’m glad that’s been an easy change so far.
In a really weird way this might actually be helpful to the campaign. When RFK dropped out of the race, both Kamala and Trump saw a boost in the polls, meaning there are people that supported RFK that were more Democratic leaning than Republican leaning, though it should be noted Trump went up only a few points more than Kamala did.
JD Vance has been the most unpopular VP pick in modern American history. While RFK is of course weird, I personally wouldn’t be surprised if he’s seen in a more favourable light than Vance is. The swap could potentially win some of RFK’s supporters who moved their support to Kamala over to Trump and the Republicans, and could give the opportunity for “unity” messaging considering Trump would be bringing in a former opponent as well as the Democratic association with the Kennedy name.
Will say though, not sure how effective this would be compared to the Trump campaign simply swapping Vance with someone else that was on the original running for VP pick. Still shocked knowing that Burgum was going to be picked before Trump was swayed to choose Vance, and that Tim Scott wasn’t his go-to considering Scott’s potential for Republicans playing identity politics and his talent in campaign fundraising.
Having a hard time understanding the downvotes on this one. Definitely not a popular opinion by a longshot.
Honestly fantastic choice. The more he talks over people and interrupts, the more unhinged and insensible he appears to the average voter. Political commentator I watch regularly has been saying this for months to leave his mic on at the debate rather than mute him.
Standing by it. Prefer it over fresh n hot.
Gotta say, as someone who identifies as a progressive, she’s really been beating my expectations compared to what she was saying and doing back in the 2020 primaries.
Here’s an Invidious link to the music video, option to watch it on YouTube directly is provided underneath the video on the left-hand side: https://inv.tux.pizza/watch?v=S_IAqwrvEuU
Not trying to rage-bait, being genuine when I say it’s the exact opposite for me.
Like, I can see why people like Queen, don’t get me wrong, but honestly it’s just been the case that their music has been so overplayed. I know Bohemian Rhapsody is a low blow, but I personally get that same vibe with the rest of their music library.
On the other hand, I’ve heard from a lot of people that they find Crazy Frog annoying, and I still personally don’t “get it” as to why they feel that way.
Dope! Thanks for the info. I’ll be sure to join it then.
Don’t forget to delete your Twitter account folks. Nothing of value there that you can’t get elsewhere.
Who could have ever seen this coming?
Okay but seriously, it’s not like the IDF hasn’t been dehumanizing Palestinian lives for as long as we can remember. They were literally purposely shooting the legs of peaceful protestors during The Great March of Return in 2018 let alone the shit that’s happened since October 7th.
Putting the actual news aside, I fucking hate how every time I read or hear this guy’s name, the first person I think of is Mark Rober.
