We have 2 million prisoners for 330 million people.

They claim 1.6 million prisoners for their 1.4 billion people.

Even if it were double what China claims, per capita we keep far more of our people in bondage, because we found and disgustingly prioritize the private profit in it. More prisoners for private for profit prisons, and more slave labor leased out to for profit corporations.

We put people in cages using any excuse to increase quarterly earnings expectations for our sociopath class. “Land of the free,” Lo fucking L.

  • Neoliberal good cop/fascist bad cop was always a race to the bottom. This was inevitable so long as we fail to cut the capitalists down to size, and both parties are paid to defend their con game from us by stoking social issue division to stop the peasants from looking up at the oligarchs, our common enemies whether you’ve been brainwashed into worshipping them or not.

I voted for Harris out of attempted harm reduction as I do like clockwork for the lesser evil, but voting Neoliberal only slowed the sinking, it was never going to make things better, just worse a little slower as the Neoliberals kept meeting their opposition in the new middle every cycle to keep up with the market’s demands for new, crueler ways to privately profit off human misery both parties are paid to defend and expand. A vote for continued quiet capitalist slaughter over loud, bragging capitalist slaughter. Not peace. Under Harris, healthcare rackets would still be murdering Americans legally, homeless Americans would still be dying in droves literally as a point to keep the laborers fearful as it would be cheaper to house them then deal with the fallout of them being homeless, etc.

But by all means keep the focus of your ire on the people who had nothing to vote for, only against for the last half century. You’re basically attacking the silent cowards in 1930 Germany and not the Nazis.

There are only 2 ways this ends, either the Mario’s brother method, or capitalist enforced climate change will collapse the capitalist’s con game and human civilization for us if humanity is too chickenshit to depose the economic metastasis, growth or and die capitalist cult and embrace economic equilibrium with environmental homeostasis. The parties are captured. No amount of voting will fix this. Reagan and Kemp saw to that when they captured their opposition. The last vote Americans had on the shape and priorities of our inhuman economy was in 1980, we only get a vote on how to address the social wedge symptoms of it, and only if addressing those symptoms won’t meaningfully effect quarterly earnings expectations.

Whether it was Trump in 2020, this, or one of his mutant children in another 4 years, our tolerance and worship of greed was going to lead to this. Maga, Trump’s rise as more than a gameshow host con-man, and imperialism are symptoms of our avarice rot induced collapse, not the causes. The cause are the capital markets being allowed to infect our politics and override any societal values we ever had prior to other than metastasize at all human cost.

  • We live at the end of history, you see.

You say that in jest, but human civilization is coming apart on easy paradise mode, and even then it took us about 200,000 years of wandering around in the dirt to even start trying, and in trying we’re irrevocably destroying the place eyes wide open.

The idea that humanity will exist as more than scattered animals clinging to old hardened structures having destroyed our temperate climate for millions of years is laughable. The insurance industry is having a stroke about its continued survival after just a few of the teensiest little tastes of our good, irreversible work.

The long arm of recorded history is ending, by our own capitalist hands, for short term profit.

We’re literally razing the forest so there will be no shade for future generations, only clinging to base survival on a hostile planet they probably won’t even know their ancestors were directly responsible for.

There are only 2 ways this ends, either the Luigi method, or capitalist enforced climate change will collapse the capitalist’s con game and human civilization for us if we’re too chickenshit. The parties are captured. No amount of voting will fix this. Reagan and Kemp saw to that when they captured their opposition.

  • Neolib good cops/fascist bad cops

Both perfectly fine with homeless Americans dying in the streets in droves, both on the same bribe take from the same wealthy “donors” to protect their exploitation grift from the people as they stoke social issue wedges that are often symptoms of the economy they protect from us to keep us divided and hating each other more than the owners who laugh as we tear one another apart. Divide and profit. Easier than putting us in chains, cleaner than running dissenters over with tanks. Turn us on each other.

An economy is supposed to be a lowly tool to efficiently distribute goods and services for the benefit of a society. That means an economy should reward prosocial vocations like teachers and nurses, and punish the pursuit of private, antisocial greed. Instead, those that own our economy rule us in oligarchy. The tail is wagging the dog, and it’s inhuman and perverse. That didn’t start with Trump, his rise is a symptom of the perversion that the trickle down economic lie put on steroids.

  • Yup, “designated protest zones” with a permit were designed to preserve the illusion of protest while removing the efficacy in the wake of the civil rights movement, removing protest from the eyelines, profit operations, and governmental operation of those being protested.

If a protest isn’t disruptive, it’s masturbation. Might feel good, but it won’t do shit.

Just as with our American free speech, it’s been neutered into not mattering, and it will be silenced on for profit media and buried/quieted on for profit social media if it’s an opinion the oligarchs don’t want to be spread, just like Luigi when they realized nothing they could propagandize using their for profit bully pulpits would turn our crony capitalist beaten citizenry against him.

  • We didnt show up to stop this at the ballot box to kick the can of neoliberal mediocrity and capitalist servitude for one more cycle.

We’re too cowardly for necessary revolution to cut the capitalists down and make a constitution that guards against antisocial greed.

Why is it up to these career civil servants to Weekend at Bernie’s a 50 years dead corpse of a nation for us and face clearly extreme consequences for it?

We could have voted for continued quiet capitalist slaughter, I did out of the cowardice though that hardly matters, but we failed to. So loud, braggadocious slaughter it is.

At least there’s a silver lining in them dissecting and pillaging the rotted corpse. More will stop pretending this nation didn’t utterly, irrevocably fall under Reagan, which is good, because the leftover momentum has been a hindrance to revolution and making something just for future generations. Step zero is recognition of the situation.

You’d either have to be willfully ignorant (Republican voters) or clinically delusional not to acknowledge the United States has fallen as anything more than a military platform for expanding global capitalist exploitation and domination. It’s over. It’s been over. It’s so over that the vultures are busy doing what they do best to the carcass, which is what this story is reporting on. Get the net.
