Donald J. Trumpā€™s declaration Tuesday night that he would be a ā€œdictatorā€ only on ā€œDay Oneā€ of his presidency wasnā€™t to be taken seriously, Fox News host Jesse Watters insisted Wednesday.

ā€œItā€™s only a dictatorship for one day, guys,ā€ Watters began, chuckling. ā€œHeā€™ll just sit and sign executive orders like Biden did.ā€

Trump, Watters claimed, ā€œknows exactly what he is doing.ā€

ā€œHeā€™s teasing the press and they just took the bait,ā€ he claimed, before playing clips of two MSNBC contributors whoā€”unlike Wattersā€”were not taking Trump lightly.

ā€œLook how unhappy these people look. MSNBC needs to relax. And donā€™t you dare laugh at Trumpā€™s jokes. They arenā€™t funny,ā€ the Fox host said, before going to another round of clips, this time from the rival networkā€™s Morning Joe show.

Ahh ha ha ha, ahh ha ha ha! Dictatorships are soooo freaking funny guys. Remember when the US backed Pinochetā€™s military junta in Chile? God that was hilarious. Super funny when they started disappearing people. And the torture, good times, good times.

Oh, you mean the conflict thatā€™s glorified by right-wing terrorist groups today because it targeted leftists?

Fun reminder that the GOP today has the same enemies as the Nazis: sexual, ethnic, and religious minorities & leftists. Its not a coincidence, its a plan.

Yep, thatā€™s the one. Absolute hilarity! Letā€™s not pretend there hasnā€™t been plenty of dictator humor from the left also though. Unfortunately, supporting ā€œleftistā€ ideals does not preclude your being a brutal ā€œcomedianā€.

Well yes, one can be an idiot on the left and wish for a Reign of Terror.

But the left doesnā€™t really have a problem with paramilitary groups advertising that theyā€™re training for a civil war while trying to overthrow elections and invoking that imagery.
