The censure resolution ā sponsored by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) ā had accused Tlaib of āleading an insurrectionā for her participation in an anti-war protest last month at the Capitol, organized by Jewish groups, which featured scores of arrests.
Pro-Israel Democrats, who might have been inclined to censure Tlaibās comments, had hammered Greene for her inaccurate characterization of a peace protest ā albeit a rowdy one ā and for sensationalizing Tlaibās role in orchestrating it. They were also leery that Greeneās āinsurrectionistā language had trivialized the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of former President Trump.
This came up at the same time that Grand Moff Santosās expulsion came up. I bet there was some horse trading to ensure neither motion got a majority.
I doubt it. Censure is basically meaningless. Nowhere near getting kicked out of Congress. Thereās no point in deal making for it, since itās symbolic
