Like the fact that people were trying to create imaginary friend ponies using Buddhist meditation techniques, the existence of Cupcakes (and all attendant media), and the popularity of “clop” flooding Google images such that a lot of little kids probably saw pony porn while looking for pictures of Twilight Sparkle to trace….
I saw this as someone with a homemade Applejack perler bead on my refrigerator.
It is endless amusing that this whole thing started because some journalist lambasted Friendship is Magic for using Flash, /co/ got intrigued, and then the rest is history.
Sounds like all the same reasons people hate on furries. “You ruined ny childhood!” Bitch, you searched without Safe Search turned on! Rule43 is a curse for many.
The thing is that stuff has always shown up, even with safe search on. It’s sorta like you can image search any given Pokémon and there will be something lewd almost immediately.
I do think adults who enjoy children’s content have some responsibility in making sure that stuff isn’t as easily accessible. There had been an online adult My Little Pony fandom before bronies, which was far less toxic.
Being anti-brony is a symptom of toxic masculinity. The Internet went after that fandom in a way I haven’t seen since furries.
You gotta admit part of it was probably deserved.

How would you explain this to a kid? Also - blue boards are supposed to not be technically SFW but lol that just means not porn
I just learned a lot about the pony fandom
Did you know that one of the longest works of fiction ever written is a MLP/Fallout crossover fan fiction?
I think it beats Henry Darger’s Vivian Girls. Darger totally would have posted to /mlp/ if he was alive though, so it balances out.
