Better headline: Elderly American man fell and broke his arm, was grateful to be in India where healthcare is affordable
And then the locals laughed at him for getting scammed out of 10 bucks…
It’s really all about perspective…
“We know you want healthcare, but how about more tax cuts for the rich instead?” - The GOP
GOP “By giving tax cuts to the rich, eventually some time in the future, it will mean you might get health care … somehow … which is why we need to give tax cuts to the rich”
They charged the American double and it still felt like a bargain.
The real question is why the hell is a governor engaging in international trade or diplomacy? Art. 1 Sec 8.
It’s usually to promote business investments in their state as opposed to general trade. There are plenty of governors that do that from both political parties.
The governor of my state just went to the UAE recently to do that, and has done several other trips as well over the years. https://www.michigan.gov/whitmer/news/press-releases/2024/11/25/gov-whitmer-to-meet-with-business-leaders-and-foreign-officials-in-spain
Could you stop and have some introspection for FIVE MINUTES
I wonder if the arm breaking was part of their negotiating strategy.
