Did you really expect tens of millions of Americans to go and vote for Harris just to prove to people like you that they are not bigoted, or selfish, or whatever?

I’m not defending anything, I’m just saying that if you expect people to behave a certain way, and they don’t behave that way, you can either continue to expect them to behave that way and be disappointed, or you can change your expectations.

This isn’t a child’s bad behavior. It’s a national problem. Rapists and racists don’t get a pass and say “Oh well. We should expect better.” They are the problem. They should be handled as a problem.

That’s the problem. You cannot just expect people to vote against something. Voter turnout happens when there is something to vote for. It may seem pedantic but look at these election results. And the 2016 results…

They turned out… for the fascist. To be clear, Liberals are pointing the finger at each other but this is the fault of every idiot that voted for Trump. We all know what he is but they want policies and power at the expense of democracy. History won’t remember these ppl well.

Voter turnout happens when there is something to vote for.

They voted for the boot. Fuck America’s right wing.

I don’t disagree with anything you said; your previous comment as well. I hope it’s a sobering moment for US politics but I’m too cynical at this point to believe that will actually happen (yet)

The right is drunk at the moment. It’s going to take time and awful consequences unfortunately. They may still blame it all on the left. I’ll be fighting back.
