      hey have you watched “the man in the high castle” it’s about alternative universe in which the nazis won, can you imagine if that happened, can you imagine if they just took over an entire continent and murdered almost everyone on it and installed a fascist christian ethnostate and went about playing world police for 80 years, that would be real fucked up

        My favorite part about the book is that there’s an alt-alt-history novel the characters will sometimes read, The Grasshopper Lies Heavy where instead the Allies win the alt-history version of WW2. In the alt-alt-history, after the Allies win they basically do a positive imperialism where they conquer Africa and China, somehow eliminate poverty, spread the New Deal worldwide, then the US and UK get into a cold war that the UK wins.

        I took it to mean that PKD thought even in a liberal’s wildest imagination, even when under the direct threat of fascism, they’d write a book about how they almost win and then lose.

        I made a similar observation several years ago. For the American tribes still present, The Man in the High Castle is a reality for them.

      It may seem like a workable solution but don’t take the batteries out. It’s like taking the batteries out the smoke alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. You get a bit of peace and quiet but the problem gets bigger.

      Kind of a disservice to commie westerners, like me (please forgive me for the heinous crime of being polish 😭😭😭), who saw the light and dropped Mussolini and Hitler. It was a hard and long poop, the one you have to take your shirt off on, but they got out.

    The willingness not only to dehumanise all Russians at the drop of a hat is astounding in itself, but to then go on and assert just how many Ukrainian lives we’re willing to drop in a blender to STICK IT TO PUTLER is next level. The complete willingness for bloodshed on both sides is strange. The contest seems to be just how many countries of people can they support the genocide of simultaneously.

      The lines from politicians (of both sides of the american political party) about how happy they are they get to kill russians without any American lives lost is the most telling thing, they don’t give a shit about anyone in Ukraine. Lives lost don’t mean a single damn to them.

      Any Ukranian who sees that shit should realise that the west doesn’t care about them for a second. They are in for a rude awakening if they think the average person will see a single american dollar to provide water, food or blankets. Incidentally, all things Evil China has provided to them already.
