    Lemmy needs the “good bot / bad bot” bot

    Guys your misinformation problem is not because of the sources being drawn from, and even if it was, this is not a solution. It’s fine for Facebook where we need to try to tell my uncle that realpatriotnewshour.com is lying to him, but on Lemmy the landscape is different.

      I’d have said the same of Reddit in 2015, but I’m certain that you can recognize the rapid decline of information quality over there. The absence of disinformation is simply a part of the cycle, and extending the desirable portion the cycle with measures like these is about all that can be done.

      There was an upsetting amount of newsmax posted to this community last year, so it’s far from impervious to the sexy, sexy wiles of untruth.
