Starving children and bulldozed corpses are going to happen in Palestine even if your choice of president makes it to office. Short of putting our own troops there, Israel isn’t going to stop.
But given the fact that you’re voting independent, you’re complicit in making things worse in countless other ways.
Yes, by voting on your morals and ignoring the context, you have your nose in the air. What your actions are showing is that you don’t care for the very real consequences, you care about feeling better than the people you view as “voting for genocide”
That mindset is elitist and extremely disconnected from reality.
Justify it however you want. You are still relinquishing your vote for a message that doesn’t serve a purpose except to selfishly bestow perceived moral superiority upon yourself.
lol the mental gymnastics you have to do to convince yourself that it’s okay and actually right and best to vote for a senile war criminal aren’t going to work on me.
I’m not responsible for Joe Biden sending weapons to the people who triple tap aid worker convoys, or trump assassinating generals, or Obama blasting weddings or bush turning fallujha into a charnel house.
I didn’t vote for that. I didn’t have any seat at the table where those decisions were made. I wasn’t even asked to look the other way when afghan warlords molested children or Clinton’s assassination squad raped ghaddafi to death with a knife. I bear no responsibility for those actions because I had no part in their commission.
If I cannot be held responsible for the unforgivable, reprehensible actions of a string of government administrations I know my own voting record on, how can anyone call me responsible for an imagined future and its variable or constant horrors which like those of the past, lie so far beyond my influence they might as well exist in a different galaxy?
No, this machine exists to transform human suffering into the demonic wine those at its helm were raised on and when given some minuscule chance to influence it I will not lend my strength to direct its path of mutilation hither or thither, but to destroy its machinery even in the smallest way possible.
There it is. Several paragraphs of bloviation, demonstrating that all you care about is your precious morals, followed by the ultimate declaration that you have no intention of actually making things better.
Your vote is for the degradation of the system, while you sit in your arm chair and praise the imaginary dismantling of government based solely on your moral superiority.
We see you. Thanks again for justifying your pointlessness, and again reaffirming that there is no reasoning with you. The rest of us have a reality to tend to.
aww surely a fellow southerner can take a little joy in prose. you don’t want your days do turn into a bland series of walkin’ heah, do you?
things would be measurably better in the world without the great satan, wouldn’t you say?
who’s we? i’m glad you recognize that you can’t change my mind. part of that last post was to hopefully make it clear that all the liberal triple backflips of guilt and self aggrandizement wouldn’t sway me.
Anyone who unironically adopts “Death to America” ideology is a lot further gone than a liberal, which is what you wish I was, because then you’d be justified in just handwaving me like you’re trying so hard to do.
Again, and for the last time, have fun on your moral high ground. You aren’t fixing anything by refusing to participate. Nobody cares about your upstanding choice to relinquish your vote but you.
And as an aside, I’ve learned not to trust my “fellow southerners” because they tend to be vile assholes who lack understanding of the bigger picture. You don’t seem to be the exception.
This conversation won’t and can’t go any further. I’m out.
I’ve tried to engage with you in the ol’ internet good faith. Can’t see any hand waving at all from where I’m standing. It’s a little odd to suggest you’re not a liberal when you’re justifying, espousing and defending voting for Biden so strongly.
If you’re not a liberal then how do you call yourself?
I never said I’d relinquish anything. I said I was voting third party. And it really seemed like you cared how I voted and especially how other people interpreted me talking about it for a lot of comments, what changed?

Congrats on that.

Good luck with whatever your deal is.
