Think about what a boon a Texan secession could be, though! Mass emigration of conservatives to their long-awaited anti-woke holy land! Two fewer Republican Senators and a net gain of 9 seats in the House! We’ll just have to pass a law stripping citizenship from those who willingly emigrate to T*xas so when it all comes crashing down, the pig fuckers can’t vote their way back into power.

(obviously, this is not serious, as things never work out smoothly - secession is actually a bad idea and would strand millions of Democratic voters as well as violate the territorial integrity of the Union. If conservatives want to have their own country, Russia will have them)

Texas would stagnate or crater without the enormous wealth federal defense spending brings in the form of two gigantic posts (Cavazos/bliss are ridiculously large) and dozens and dozens of other bases and ports - plus billions in defense spending on hardware produced there. Think we’ll leave the f35 line in texas? HAHAA

bell textron? rockets? spacex types and missiles of all kinds are built in texas.

I almost hope they try it just to see the FAFO but conversely there’s too many good people (and lots of great food) to be lost.

Careful, they can’t secede, but they do have the right to split into like 5 different states if I remember correctly

They can’t secede the same way the 13 British colonies can’t become their own country.

They don’t stand a chance on that one. There was an ocean between the two, not a multi thousand mile border to defend.

The point is mostly that no matter what’s written in the US Constitution, saying something can’t happen geopolitically is extremely short-sighted.

Irrespective, joining the USA should not be like joining the mob. If the majority of a state’s citizens want to go it alone independently then they should be allowed to do so.

the national average IQ would jump 20pts if Texas and Florida were allowed to exit.

      not saying it’s a good idea but…

And a hot war on our southern border against Texas-armed Republican drug cartels who may have physical custody if not operational control of American nuclear assets.

They can fight their way out if they want but anyone who expresses a desire to secede from the union is a traitor to the United States. Point blank.

Do you know why the USSR isn’t the USSR anymore? It’s because hard right soviet partisans including Vladimir Putin overthrew their softer, less authoritarian conservatives in what was left of the Communist party.

Conservatives lost at democracy, can’t cope with reality and can’t cope with their own ineptitude either.
