In the sprint qualifying incident, it looked to me that Alonso compromised Ocon’s entry by being too far to the left, causing Ocon to take the corner tighter than he wanted to, resulting in a bit of a slide. And Fernando appeared to come even further left, narrowing Ocon’s exit even more
There was plenty of room and Alonso was off the racing line. Alonso was in the corner, so he had to steer left at some point.
He could have left much more room while still making the corner. Ultimately it was a freak accident but Alonso did ocon no favours there by giving him zero margin for error.
I agree with you, Alonso did him not favor by turning back to the left before ocon was past him. But it wouldn’t have made a difference I think. Ocon lost control and was on a direct trajectory towards Alonso no matter how far left or right he was.
How much of ocon loosing it because of where Alonso placed his car? Good question, that came up again and again from drivers during the weekend and I can only imagine how distracting that is. Racond incident I’d say.

Others can always go out of their ways to make room but I did not read anything about a penalty for Alonso, so I guess it was all fine.

But it was not an alpine only issue. Any car pushing could have had a snap like that and crash. Nando is just throwing shade at his old team and former teammate because he has a chance to. This is an issue of spacing in short tracks in sessions where all 20 cars are on the track at the same time
I guess it takes a huge experience to drive as clean to meet the Fernando standard, though. He’s a legend, after all.
